Тhe festive season is the most joyful time of the year filled with cheer and great energy. At Coordea, we love to celebrate it with a variety of fun activities and traditions. It’s what makes this period even more magical! We’ve decided to reveal you each one of them, keep reading!
Decorating for the Holidays
As soon as the calendar flips to December, we bring the festive spirit into our offices. Our team members come together to decorate the Christmas tree with twinkling lights and ornaments, making it shiny. The warm glow of the tree lights creates a cozy and inviting atmosphere – the perfect way to spread the holiday cheer.
Secret Santa TV Show
One of our favourite holiday traditions is the Secret Santa gift exchange. We gather around to watch the exciting Secret Santa TV show, where names are randomly drawn to determine who will be gifting whom. Now that’s how you build real anticipation!
Pre-New Year Party
To kick off the New Year celebrations, we host a fun pre-New Year party. It’s a great opportunity for colleagues to unwind, socialize, enjoy delicious food and drinks and get gifts from the company. This is also the time when the Secret Santa gift exchange happens.
Ugly Christmas Sweater Day
The last two years, on Ugly Christmas Sweater Day, which date is always on the third Friday of December, we also encourage our colleagues to wear ugly Christmas sweaters. It is something that only adds some spice to the whole holiday energy. It’s the day when we are looking forward to see who has the “ugliest” sweater from our office!
Santa for Kids
We believe in spreading holiday joy to the next generation. Every year, around this time, we invite our employees to bring their children to the office for a special visit from Santa Claus. The little ones get to meet Santa, receive delightful gifts, take part in fun activities and games, and indulge in their favourite snacks! Seeing the smiles of our little ones really light up our day!
A Relaxed New Year’s Day
To ensure a stress-free start to the New Year, we offer a half-day of work on December 31st. This allows our employees to spend quality time with their loved ones, attend holiday gatherings, or simply relax and recharge to have a smooth start of the next year.
Finding Hidden Coins on St. Basil’s Day
Last, but not least, one of our favorite festive traditions is celebrating St. Basil’s Day on January 14, which also marks the New Year according to the Gregorian calendar. This day, known as Vasilica, honors St. Basil the Great, a symbol of kindness and wisdom, and is a time to welcome prosperity and good fortune. Lucky co-workers find hidden coins in the special pie and become godparents and should buy the pies next year. It’s said that those who find the coins will have good luck throughout the upcoming year. This is one of the most exciting and heart-warming traditions in our offices in Skopje and Tetovo, and we are excited to continue it!
